First 2010 Trip to Hospital

Children went sledding, like they have done for the past few years. It was bound to happen, the sledding accident. My 10 year old boy hit a stone wall and cracked his head open. Off to hospital we go. 3 and 1/2 hours later he gets 1 staple. Had we been there 1 more hour, he would of not needed any staples. We were there 4 hours total. What a joke. Hate those emergency rooms. Sometimes they are good, but most of the time they are horrible. I'm not going to mention the hospitals name. I can't wait to get the survey they send. Boy the copay bill came in the following day. That they are quick with. People who are not seriously ill, really should go see their Doctor. They are occupying the time needed to stitch heads, fingers, etc., in the emergency room. If you have a fever go to your Doctor. Actually wait 3 days, then go see your Doctor. A fever means you have an infection, and it's your body fighting it. People are so quick to go to E.R or Doctor, before letting the infection, fever run it's course. Everyone looking for a quick get better, give me antibiotics, when your body can fight things on it's own. So here I am frustrated with my first trip to the E.R. in 2010.
